Wat Chantharangsi Buntharam, Chiang Mai – April 4, 2026
On April 4, 2026, the MAP Foundation Multimedia (MMM) Team organized a special outreach activity during the Shan traditional festival, “Poi San Long,” held at Wat Chantharangsi Buntharam in San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai. The festival brought together migrant communities from across Chiang Mai.

The primary aim of the activity was to promote MAP FM Radio and strengthen relationships with its listeners. During the festival, MAP Multimedia team members had the opportunity to engage directly with community members, listen to their feedback, and better understand their needs and expectations regarding radio programming.
In addition to direct engagement, the MAP Multimedia team invited festival participants to join interactive games designed to raise awareness about the work of MAP Foundation. Participants were asked questions related to MAP FM Radio programs and the organization’s mission. Surprisingly, more than 300 people joined the games, reflecting strong community interest and engagement. Those who answered correctly and scanned the MAP Radio QR code to download the MAP Radio mobile application received small gifts as tokens of appreciation, creating a fun and educational experience for attendees.

The team also distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials tailored for migrant communities. These materials, translated into Shan and Burmese, included notebooks with practical guidance, flyers on the 90-day reporting requirement, information about Hepatitis B, and basic knowledge of Thai labor laws. These resources aim to provide migrants with essential information to better navigate their lives and work in Thailand.

Through this engagement, our team observed that many migrants still lack awareness of their rights, leaving them vulnerable in various situations. This highlights the continued importance of outreach and education efforts.
MAP Foundation remains committed to supporting migrant communities in Thailand by providing accessible information, strengthening communication channels, and empowering individuals through knowledge and community connection.
