The Labour Rights Program (LRA) under MAP Foundation organized a “Data Collection” Workshop to Empower Migrant Workers on August 24, 2025, at Furama Chiang Mai Hotel. The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ skills and knowledge in addressing labor issues.

The training focused on teaching participants how to collect data accurately and systematically in workplace situations such as unpaid wages and overtime, underpayment, employer exploitation, and unfair dismissal. This data is essential for providing evidence in negotiations or legal complaints.

During the workshop, participants were divided into small groups for practical learning. Each group was assigned a case study to discuss, brainstorm, and practice the process of data collection from initial steps to compiling and presenting findings. The participants then share their experiences, discuss obstacles in data collection, and lesson learn.

Participants’ Feedback:
A group leader, Sai Kham noted that, at first, we found data collection difficult. However, despite having no prior experience, the training helped us understand the importance of accurate data and evidence, particularly in legal processes.

Many expressed their desire for more such workshops to further develop their own potential and strengthen the labor community and network in the future.
