On 22 November 2025, the 5th STOP VAW Day was held at the Amora Hotel in Chiang Mai under the theme “Children’s Power, Future Power.” The event brought together over 300 young people and migrant children, more than 50 organizations across four provinces—Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, and Lamphun joint. Representatives from the Royal Thai police, The National Human Rights Commission, The Department of Children and Youth Affairs and The Committee representative on Children, Youth, Women, Elderly, Ethnic Groups, and LGBTQ+ attended and received the recommendation letter prepared by young participants and networks.

This annual event aims to promote child and youth, women participation in policy advocacy, especially on issues affecting their safety, rights, and future.

Youth Policy Discussion Sessions

The morning sessions featured four sessions, each designed to strengthen youth participation in policy formation and policy advocacy. Key topics included:

  1. Reproductive Health and Rights
    Ensuring access to information and services that help prevent sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies.
  2. Eliminating Online Gender-Based Violence
    Addressing concerns related to cyberbullying, child sexual exploitation, and human trafficking in digital spaces.
  3. Children’s Rights, Environment, and Climate Change
    Highlighting the importance of environmental protection and youth perspectives on climate impacts in their communities.
  4. Protection and Safeguarding of Migrant Children’s Rights
    Emphasizing children’s rights to survival, development, health, and education, especially for migrant and marginalized groups.

Youth Exhibition, Dialogue, and Policy Submission

In the afternoon, a booth exhibition showcased youth-led initiatives, followed by presentations from the Children’s Rights and Youth Activists Network (CRYA) and the Lanna Children’s Rights Network (LCRC). Youth representatives submit the policy recommendations and engaged in a roundtable dialogue with officials from:

  • The National Human Rights Commission
  • The Department of Children and Youth Affairs
  • The representative Committee on Children, Youth, Women, Elderly, Ethnic Groups, and LGBTQ+
  • The Royal Thai Police

This pledge and collective action reflect a strong hope that the voices of children, youth, and migrant children will help drive policy changes and contribute to a safer, stronger future for all.
