On Tuesday 11 August 2015, MAP Foundation with APWLD (Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development) have created the Solidarity Action and Seminar on “Living-wage for all migrant workers” at INA House (49/1 Chiang Mai – Lamphun Rd, Muang District, Chiang Mai) which the participants were the representatives from all around Asia region e.g. RITES – India, Burmese Women Union Burma/Thailand, GSBI – Indonesia, SODA – Laos, Naripokkho – Bangladesh, GMSP – Nepal, Tanggol Bayi – the Philippines and Trans Asia Sister Association.
During the activity, female migrant worker was invited to share and exchange her experience about being exploited from capitalists and bourgeoisies with low level wage-payment which is not enough for her life-routine.
Usually, most of the females always have a higher rate of expenditure than males in daily-routine accessories, child-fostering, or even the medical things. And after all, she can’t live with that injustice wage-payment.
Finally, the activity’s main purpose is that to guide the female migrant workers and let them know how to solve their problems with the capability to be the mouthpiece for all female migrant workers to learn and solve problems together.
